This is why Orchestra is SO HARD.
So I’m in a Bassoon Quartet (I play contra :D), and we will be performing at our Double Reed day and a couple more recitals and such. And we’ve been racking our brains to come up with a name for our group, but have been unsuccessful. What would be an original/creative/funny/anything name for a Bassoon Quartet?
I know I have lots of creative followers (C’mon, we’re music kids), so if you guys have any ideas, please send them to me(:
Thank you all so much <3
I used to pride myself on how well I did in AP Music Theory in high school. I got a 4 on the exam and did exceptionally well in the class. So, with that credit, I didn’t have to take Harmony 1 last semester. And I definitely wasn’t going to because I didn’t want to have to pay for it. So I didn’t. My friend Toni and I were the only two students out of roughly 100 freshmen at my school that didn’t have to take Harmony 1. We were pretty proud of ourselves.
Well, this semester, I’m taking Harmony 2. I was pretty pumped until the teacher started passing out our homework.. Part-writing 6/4 Passing, Pedal, and Cadential progressions. Toni and I both turned to each other, the same thought going through our heads. ‘Oh, shit..’
After the teacher did some explaining, we finally remembered the basics of writing these progressions, but we both struggled through the work.
I have a feeling it’s going to be a long semester in that class..
However, in better news, I have Symphonic Band today, and I am so excited :D I missed my bassoon buddy all of break <3
